 Digital Production Service Request
 
 Objectives
 

Have an efficient organization in the managing of the resources within this laboratory, in order to offer an adequate service, convenient and just; through the elaboration of adequate regulations for the care of all mentioned resources. 

 
 Procedures for Equipment Loan
 
  • Persons who wish to use any piece of equipment that may be available to students, professors, and administrative staff, such as Video cameras, photographic digital cameras, tripods and other accessories, must request them 3 days in advance.  
  • All equipment must be picked up and returned by the person who made the reservation.
  • All students should present their University ID, for the current quarter, if not they cannot rent any type of equipment.  If for any reason the student does not have an ID, he must show a copy of the registration receipt. 
  • All equipment loaned must be returned to the person in charge of the Production Room, on the specified time, or the student will be sanctioned with a temporary loan suspension of equipment use.
  • All students who wish to reserve equipment for use outside of the University premises must fill out the “Request for External Loan of Technological Resources” form, which must be signed by the professor, coordinator or senior in order to ensure the use of the equipment for academic purposes. 
  • All student who which to reserve equipment for the weekend must fill out the Request for External Loan of Technological Resources” form which must be signed by the professor, coordinator or senior in order to ensure the use of the equipment for academic purposes.  Said forms Hill be received until Wednesdays before 4:00p.m., or else they will not be accepted.

  • All students must purchase their Mini DVD tape, since the Digital Production Department does not provide such material.  (Neither are they loaned nor is responsible of offering them).

 

For Editing
  • In order to use any of the editing isles, the student must have a reservation made 3 days in advance. 
  • The editing groups must be made up by a maximum of 3 people.
  • Students’ entering the room wearing shorts or other inappropriate clothing is prohibited.
  • Eating in the Digital Production Room is prohibited, due to the sensible equipment found therein.
  • Students will have a maximum of 4 hours for their editing, on the reserved date.
  • Students reaching late on their editing date will not be granted additional time because there is continuous editing scheduled.
  • Editing equipment must only be used for academia projects, such as: final projects, work assigned by professors, practices, amongst others.  These may not involve receiving monetary retribution.
  • The Digital Production Laboratory compromises to render a good service to all student and administrative staff of the Latina’s University of Panama.
  • It is absolutely prohibited to place: television, amplifiers or any other heave equipment on each side (made of gypsum).  These should be places on special tables or on a desk.  Sitting on the sides is prohibited to laboratory users as well.
